About the activity

Champagne Xavier Leconte has its origins in 1870, when Onésime Leconte brought viticulture into the family. In 1980, Xavier Leconte continued to pass on his passion for viticulture and oenology by starting his career as an independent winemaker.
Since 2003, Alexis Leconte, representative of the 6th generation, has been the guarantor of the House's style and is involved at all levels to guarantee the quality approach initiated by his forefathers.

The Xavier Leconte vineyard is made up of about forty small plots spread over the villages of Troissy, Dormans, Mareuil-le-Port, Vandières and Aÿ. Xavier and Alexis preserve the soils and produce true "Terroir" cuvées. They encourage the vines to plunge their roots into the subsoil, in order to obtain expressive wines, reflections of the Leconte vineyard.

In the heart of the vineyards, they already foresee the future bubbles of their champagnes and respect the nature of their terroir. At Champagne Xavier Leconte, 75% of the grape varieties are vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats and 25% in oak barrels. Indeed, the House elaborates champagnes all in subtlety, complex and harmonious thanks to a cellar of 40 barrels originating from Burgundy and tuns.
